Liminal project (UK) – postpunk/cold wave from Liverpool
Liminal Project is a post-punk trio based in Liverpool. Their sound is a heady mix of insistent bass lines, cascading guitar, and deep Francophone female vocals. Michael and Roxane formed the core of the group in 2022 and recorded their first single, Liminarité, a chorus-drenched and paradoxically danceable track about loss. Zoe was brought into the fold as guitarist shortly afterwards. In the year since they began, they’ve performed extensively within the UK and Ireland, supporting the likes of Lydia Lunch, VR Sex, and Mareux. Their latest single, Midnight Blue, is markedly more spacious and brooding than previous releases, yet equally compelling, demonstrating their stylistic breadth and potential.
